Deleting your account

Last updated 14 September 2026

You can delete your Vialkeeper account and everything in it at any time, from inside the app or by writing to us. This page explains how, and exactly what goes.

From inside the app

Open Settings, scroll to Delete account, and confirm by typing your email address. If you signed up with a password you'll be asked for it as well. The deletion happens immediately — there is no waiting period and no soft-delete state that quietly keeps your data around.

If you have a paid subscription, it is cancelled as part of the same step. If that cancellation fails for any reason, nothing is deleted and we tell you so, rather than leaving you with a closed account that is still being billed.

If you've already uninstalled the app

Write to hello@vialkeeper.com from the address you signed up with. We'll confirm it's you and delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What is deleted

Everything tied to your account is removed from our database:

  • Your account itself — email address, password hash, verification state, your weight goal and your settings.
  • Every medication, including its schedule and its dose ladder.
  • Every logged dose and its history.
  • Every weight you have recorded, and any note attached to it.
  • Every vial and reconstitution record in your inventory.
  • Every cycle you have planned, including its taper steps and notes.
  • Every reminder, and any notification subscriptions for your devices.
  • All active sessions, so you are signed out everywhere.
  • The housekeeping records tied to your account, such as a redeemed access key or which one-time notices you had already been shown.

What we cannot delete, and why

If you ever paid us, Stripe keeps a record of the transaction. We don't control that and can't erase it: payment processors are required to retain transaction records for tax and anti-fraud purposes. That record sits with Stripe, not with Vialkeeper, and it contains billing details rather than anything about your medications.

Server logs may briefly contain your IP address or account id as part of ordinary operation. These rotate out on their own and are never used to reconstruct a deleted account.

If the app ever threw an error while you were using it, we keep the error itself — the message, the technical stack trace and the page it happened on — because it is usually a fault affecting everybody who reaches that screen, and deleting it would erase a bug report rather than a person. Your account id is stripped from it when you delete, so what remains is the fault with nobody attached. These records never contain your medications, doses or weights.

Before you go

Deletion cannot be undone, and we cannot recover an account afterwards. If you want to keep your history, open Settings and export it as CSV or JSON first — the file is yours and downloads straight to your device.
